Description
Adzuki beans are packed with nutrients and are high in dietary fiber. Commonly used to make red bean paste & added to sticky rice cakes, sweet buns, or ice cream.
You can also add the cooked beans them into salads, soups, stews and vegetarian curries.
How To Cook Adzuki Beans:
- Use a strainer or colander to rinse your beans under cold water.
- Optional – it is not necessary to soak adzuki beans, but some people prefer to soak them before they cook them.
- Use a large pot and submerge the beans in water keeping in mind that they may swell to 3 x their original size
- Bring water to boil, reduce to a simmer and cook for 45 minutes or until beans are tender.
- To make red bean paste, add sugar and ground into a paste.
