Arborio rice has a natural nutty flavour and fresh aroma, traditionally used for risotto but it is equally delicious in salads, soups and casseroles.

Description

The grains of arborio rice expand when cooked for a delicious creamy grain that absorbs flavour beautifully.

How To Cook: Absorption Method

  • Add unwashed arborio rice to a sauce pan with olive oil and lightly toast on a medium heat. (Tip, dont have the heat too high, we dont want to fry the rice)
  • Stir the rice over medium heat for 2-3min or until aromatic.
  • Add in water and salt (or stock) at a ratio or 2:1 fluid to rice. Turn the heat to high and cover with a lid.
  • Once the water is boiling, mix the rice then turn heat to low and cook for 15-18 min or until water is fully absorbed. Do not lift the lid during cooking or stir any more
  • Turn the heat off and let the rice rest with the lid on for 5 min
  • Gently fluff with a fork before serving.
