Australian Organic Pearl Barley (Pearled) – Bulk
$0.92 – $9.20
Description
Pearl barley is the most popular form of barley because it cooks faster and is less chewy than less-processed grains. It is traditionally used in soups and stews but can also be added to risottos and salads.
It has a slightly nutty flavour with a soft, chewy texture once cooked.
How To Cook Pearl Barley:
- Rinse barley to remove any dust and debris.
- Add rinsed barley to a pot and cover with water with a pinch of salt or stock. For 1 cup of grains, add 3 cups of fluid.
- Bring pot to the boil, then reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 20 minutes stirring occasionally until grain is tender.
- Once cooked to your liking, remove from heat, drain any remaining liquid, cover again and allow to sit for 5 minutes.
- Fluff with a fork before serving.
Storage: Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry spot away from direct sunlight.
Pearled Barley is grown in Australia.
