Description
Wheat grains look a bit like rice and can be ground up into flour for homemade baking. You can use them in many grain-based dishes as an alternative to rice or barley while still maintaining the beneficial nutrients and nutty flavour.
How To Cook Wheat Grain:
- Rinse grain under water to remove any dust and debris.
- Drain the grains before adding back into a pot along with fresh water or stock. For 1 cup of grain, add 2½ cups of fluid.
- Bring pot to the boil, before reducing the heat to low and simmer for 45-60 minutes or until tender.
- Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Drain any excess liquid, fluff the grains with a fork and allow to sit, covered for a few minutes before serving.
Storage: Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry spot away from direct sunlight.
Organic Wheat Grain is grown in Australia.
