Blue Corn Masa Harina (Blue Maseca) Flour – Bulk
Price range: $6.05 through $12.10
Description
Blue corn masa harina is made from corn that has been cooked in a limewater solution and then ground into a fine powder.
It makes intensely flavored tortillas, tamales and pupusas with a lovely dusky blue hue.
The difference between regular corn flour and masa harina (or maseca flour) is that regular cornmeal is simply ground corn. Blue corn masa harina flour has a finer ground texture to it.
This means that masa harina is better for making dishes like tortillas and tamales, which require a finer texture.
Storage: Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry spot away from direct sunlight.
