Description
Because cannellini beans have a thicker skin and more pronounced flavour, they are perfect to add to soups, stews and other hearty meals. While also being packed full of protein & fiber. This makes them an incredible addition to a healthy diet.
They have a mildly earthy flavour with a nutty undertone, which adds a rich flavor & texture to salads as well as adding substance. They also taste great as a side dish, on their own or added to soups, chilis and stews.
How To Cook Cannellini Beans:
- Pre-soak the beans by adding 3 times the water to dry beans. Allow them to soak overnight or at least for 8 hours.
- Drain and rinse beans before adding them to a large pot. For 1 cup of soaked beans, add 3 cups of fresh water.
- Bring the pot to a boil before reducing heat to a simmer, partially covered. Stir occasionally
- Cook for 45-60 minutes or until tender and creamy.
- Drain and serve or add to soups, stews or season and serve as a side dish.
Tips: Avoid adding any salt until the cooking process is done, this prevents the beans from developing a “tough” texture.
Storage: Store in a glass jar in a cool, dry spot away from direct sunlight
