Once cooked, white quinoa has a fluffier texture than other varieties & requires less water to cook. It makes a great addition to salads, vegan desserts, and plant-based dishes.
How to Cook White Quinoa:
- Rinse quinoa with running water for 30sec (this will remove some of the bitterness)
- Cook quinoa in a ratio of 1:2. So, for every 1 cup of quinoa, cook in 2 cups of water
- Bring water to the boil, add quinoa and simmer for 10-20 min or until all of the water has been absorbed.
- Allow to stand for 5 min with the lid on to finish steaming.
- Add into salads or try seasoning with salt & pepper & drizzle with olive oil for a light fluffy side dish.
Storage: Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry spot away from direct sunlight.
