Adding flaxseed to your food improves its texture & flavour while also supporting your dietary needs. You can eat them whole, crushed or blended into a meal.
You can also use blended flaxseeds to create an egg substitute in vegan cooking.
Adding linseeds to your diet is as easy as sprinkling over the top of some yogurt with fresh fruit, or porridge sweetened with a drizzle of honey. Or even add them to biscuits, cakes and muffins recipes.
Liven up a salad with a sprinkling of flaxseeds, adding texture, crunch and flavour as well as adding fiber.
How To Make a Flax Egg:
- Add 1tbsp of flaxseed meal to a bowl and combine with 2½tbsp of water.
- Mix together and allow to rest for 5 min or until thickened.
- Add mix to baking recipe. It is about the equivalent of 1 egg.
Note: You may not get the same lift in some recipes as a real egg, but works well in pancakes, biscuits & muffins.
