Triticale Flakes (Rolled Triticale) – Bulk
$0.85 – $8.50
Description
Triticale has a higher content of dietary fiber, protein, and minerals than both rye and wheat, making it a veritable “super cereal”.
Being a wheat hybrid, triticale contains gluten so is not suitable for gluten free diets. It has a lower gluten content than wheat, so breads made with triticale tend to be denser and heavier.
Triticale is a potentially rich source of manganese, iron, copper, zinc, phosphorous, calcium, potassium, and magnesium, as well as essential vitamins, including the entire B-family of vitamins in significant quantities and vitamin E.
How To Use Triticale Flakes:
- Substitute them out for rolled oats in porridge or cereals.
- Add the rolled flakes to bread making or sprinkle on top of baking loaves or muffins for added texture.
- Mix together seeds, nuts, rolled oats and triticale with honey and bake to create a delicious granola.
Storage: Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
