Self raising flour is quite versatile and can be used in a variety of recipes, including cakes, biscuits, pastries, and breads. It simplifies the baking process by including the leavener and salt right in with the flour.
While its quick & easy to use, it’s not recommended for use with yeast breads and recipes that add leavening ingredients.
How to make plain flour into self-raising:
- For every 1 cup of plain flour, add 1½ tsp of baking powder and ½ of salt.
Storage: Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry spot away from direct sunlight.
